After deleting all my websites and forgetting to save some of the backups, I decided to stay with Greengeeks after all as they had the best deal for my needs. I had a total of 5 sites hosted with them, on a reseller account, and one with Siteground for Hairmania on a magento server. Altogether, I was paying around 50 quid/month for the lot and have now moved all the sites to another server although still at Greengeeks, costing only about a fiver/month for the first year. The price after that in 2023 will be around 15 quid/month.

Keeping up to date

It might seem that I have been neglecting this blog, but it is always my intention to keep you all up to date. The last couple of weeks, I have been busy doing other stuff and quite honestly haven’t had the time to write about it.

At least it wasn’t raining.

As mentioned before, I had my second appointment with the Restart program which was really a waste of time. This one was a Self-employment meeting where I was supposed to learn about becoming self-employed. As I have been self-employed for around 40 years, I found the whole idea a bit pointless and I could probably tell them a few things.
On arrival, I was told that the meeting would take 2 hours and as I had to collect my son from school during that time, it would not have been practical to attend. I therefore left early and walked back to pick up my son from school. All I can say is that it was a good job that it wasn’t raining as I would’ve been really pissed off. As is normal with these companies, I have never received any message from them either to let me know the score or reschedule the appointment. Not so wonderful after all as I mentioned before in my first impressions. I have become accustomed to that and once again, have to plod along trying to earn a living without any help.

A Clean Slate

As I now have a clean slate regarding some of my websites, I have decided to move all products from hairmania.co.uk and feature them at 6forafiver.co.uk
The other sites can stay as they are for now. There is enough to keep me busy in dealing with just the 2 sites mentioned earlier.
In the meantime, I will still continue with updates to Ringmania including this blog of course and also apply for freelance jobs at Upwork and other platforms. I have another “Restart” appointment on Monday but not heard anything from them about it which I will accept as normal practice.

Broken iPad

As you can imagine, I haven’t had a chance to take the broken ipad to a local repair shop but I will get around to it eventually. My son is already getting withdrawal symptoms.
